Do Sticker colors match?

There are so many different types of screens these days (smart phones, ipads, laptops, desktops), that the colour you see is on the screen may not be an exact match.
We have tried our best . We even gave names to the colors for you to imagine.

HOW TO APPLY WALL STICKERS WITH APPLICATION TAPE

Applying wall decals is comparatively easy, but nevertheless, we recommend you to follow our instructions to make sure you will apply your wall sticker the right way from the first time.
Further in text we refer to walls, but the same is valid for any smooth surface where you can apply decals. You can find more detail in section Surfaces.

A wall sticker consists of 3 layers:

When you place an order for a wall sticker at  myRoom Decor you receive a box or a pack, which contains:

• squeegee
• paper tape
• the graphic itself

If you have multiple decals on one sheet you may wish to separate them with scissors.

Roll the Decal(s) out on a flat surface. Make sure the decal is flat on the surface using the palm of your hand to ensure there are no creases or bubbles visible.

Note!

• Freshly painted walls must be left for at least 2 weeks before application; if your wall decal is to be fitted on a wall where the other side of the wall is external you must wait at least 1 more week before application..

  • Taking your time when applying the decals will help you achieve the best results. Make sure everything is in position before removing the backing layer as the adhesive layer below is very sticky.

Important!

Clean the surface with a wet cloth tp ensure that there are no dust or small particles.
Let it dry.

1. Select the right place for the sticker.
 • Lay the sticker out on the surface, with the transparent application layer facing you.
 • Tape all four corners of the decal to the wall with your masking Tape.

2. Apply a strip of tape across the decal to create an anchor point (horizontally or vertically depending on shape of the decal).

3. Once the decal is anchored, remove the tape from the two top corners.

4. Begin to carefully peel the application layer from the backing layer, ensuring the decal is stuck to the application layer.
• If an element remains on the backing paper, go back and press.
• Keep peeling until you reach the anchor point.

5. Cut the backing layer as close to the central divide as possible.

6. Start pressing the application layer(together with the graphic) to the wall constantly smoothing with the squeegee.
 • Make sure to remove any bubble.
 • Start from the middle and work outwards, moving up slightly as you go along.

7. Wait a few minutes and then remove the anchor tape in the middle.

 • Repeat step 6 on the opposite side.

8. Wait about 10 minutes and start peeling off the application layer.
This is done under a very sharp angle, as parallel to the wall as possible (peel back slowly to ensure wall paint doesn’t come off with the clear paper).

• Be careful not to raise elements of the sticker. If that happens, go back and press until you are sure the element remains on the wall.

And there you have it!

• you can wipe fingerprints stains.
• if there are bubbles, punch them with a pin and then press.
• if the wall is rough and the sticker does not stick tightly, warm with a hair drier, press.

How to apply small decals with application tape

Additional elements that has bee alreadu cut off can be applied with the technology above. But most often they are small and doing the following is enough: 1. Peel off the paper back from the application tape and the sticker.
2. Put them in place and press to the wall.3. Smooth with the squeegee.
4. Peel off the application tape under a sharp angle. And there you have it!

If you are wanting to remove your wall sticker for any reason, take a look at our guide on How To Remove Wall Stickers.

If you happen to come across any problems when applying your wall sticker or simply need some advice before starting, give us a call and we will be able to walk you through the steps and give you the correct information to help you put your decal on the wall.

HOW TO APPLY STICKERS ON TILES

Same instructions are valid when applying FLOOR GRAPHICS and for all SMALL DECALS WITHOUT TRANSFER TAPE.

Important!

Clean the surface with a wet cloth to ensure that there are no dust or small particles.

Let it dry.

1. Preparation
Peel off 1 - 2 cm and fold back the silicon paper back.

2. Adjustment
 • Align carefully to the upper edge of the tile.
 • Check the alignment.
 • Press with finger and stick the upper end to the tile.

3. Application
 • With the help of squeegee gradually apply the sticker to the tile.
 • If any bubbles appear or if you want to slightly change position, you can peel of and press again (do this only if inevitable)
 • Avoid uneven surfaces, like the round edges of tiles.

4. Did you peel off the whole back?
• you can wipe off fingerprints.
• if there are any bubbles, punch them with a pin and press.

Now you have it!
If the design includes more elements, repeat the procedure for each one of them.

You can boast now and show others how a simple sticker totally changed kitchen and bathroom.

HOW TO APPLY BIG POSTERS, STRIPES AND BORDERS

Same instructions are valid for application of DRY ERASE STICKERS and for any other LARGE WALL STICKERS WITHOUT TRANSFER TAPE.

Lay out the sticker on a flat surface. Make sure it is not wrinkled and run your hand over it to make sure there are no creases and no visible bubbles.

Reminder!

Clean the surface with a wet cloth to ensure that there are no dust or small particles.
Let it dry.

1. Select the right place for the sticker on the wall.
 • Lay it on the wall wth vinyl facing you.
 • Align
 • Fix four corners with tape.

2.  Fix tightly with a stripe of tape across the middle. (horizontally or vertically, depending on sticker shape)

• Remove fixation tapes fro two of the corners.

3. Start carefully peeling off the sticker from tha paper back.
 • Keep doing until you reach the anchor stripe in the middle.

4. Cut off the paper as close to the stripe as possible.

5. Start pressing the vinyl against the wall while constantly smoothing with the squeegee.
 • Make sure there are no bubbles.
 • Begin from the middle and press outward, slightly moving to the right.

• Wait a few minutes and for the glue to tighten.
• Remove the anchor tape in the middle.
• Repeatstep 6 on the opposite side.

6. Repeat step 6 for the other half.
(horizontally or verticlly depending on sticker proportions)

And here you have it!
• you can wipe fingerprints stains.• if there are bubbles, punch them with a pin and then press.• if the wall is rough and the sticker does not stick tightly, warm with a hair drier, press.

Determine the suitable surface for a wall stickers. The film of a wall sticker is only 0.08 mm thin and hugs the surface perfectly.
Wall decals always adhere best when the adhesive of the wall decal hits the appropriate surface. The optimal surface for a wall tattoo is clean, fat-free, free of silicone. In addition, the wall paint should not be shiny, water-repellent or abrasion-resistant.

We have listed in our overview which substrates are best suited for a wall tattoo.

Why does a wall sticker stick on the wall and why does it not hold?

In order for a wall tattoo to stick to the wall as desired, the chemistry must be right.  And that literally. The composition of the wall paint must be compatible with the properties of the wall sticker adhesive. If this is not the case, the wall sticker will not find a hold on the wall and will not detach from the transfer film during assembly. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wall decals or the quality of the wall color, but is simply a question of chemistry. An example of this: plasters do not adhere to skin areas that have been greased shortly before. A plaster does not stop here, while it would easily find a stop in another place. The situation is similar if a wall tattoo does not want to stick to the wall. Like the creamy skin on which the plaster does not stick, wall paint, plaster or wallpaper can contain components that prevent the wall decals from sticking.

n short: wall decals stick to most surfaces. But not at all. If a wall decal does not stick, in most cases it is because the wall color has ingredients that are not compatible with the adhesive of the wall decal.

Wall decals on wallpaper - an overview

Basically, wall decals adhere well to wallpaper; under the right conditions they find a hold on smooth and structured wallpaper. It is more important than the structure of the wallpaper whether and with what color the wallpaper was painted. Because some wall colors and wallpapers contain ingredients that make it difficult for the wall tattoo to hold. We'll tell you what to look out for now.

Wall decals on painted wallpaper

Suitable paint coats for wall decals on wallpaper:

● white and colored emulsion paint without special properties, normal emulsion paint mixed with tinting paintUnsuitable paint coats for a wall tattoo - Tip: Order a test sticker:
● Mineral paint, latex paint, paints with a high wet abrasion class, silk matt paints, water-repellent paints, dirt-repellent paints, washable paints, glossy paints, shimmering paints

Conclusion for painted wallpapers: Wall decals adhere well to these wallpapers, provided the color used is compatible with a wall decal:
Paper wallpaper with painting
Woodchip wallpaper with painting
Non-woven wallpaper with painting
Glass fiber wallpaper with painting
Textured wallpaper with painting

Conclusion: All types of wallpaper, which are coated with emulsion paint, which is free of silicone or silicates and has no properties (washable, shiny ...).

Wall decals on uncoated wallpaper

Wall decals adhere poorly to these wallpapers if they are not painted beforehand. Therefore, you should do an adhesive test by ordering a free test sticker:

Glass fiber wallpaper, untreatedVinyl wallpaper, untreatedfoamed wallpaper
Wallpaper with gloss effect / silk glossWallpaper with a glitter effectSpecial wallpapers

Conclusion: These types of wallpaper in untreated form are not well suited for a wall tattoo

Wall decals on plastics

Wall decals also stick to plastics. In addition to the structure and grain size, the type of plastic and the color with which it is painted are also very important. We have put together an overview of suitable varieties here:Wall decals on painted plastic

Suitable paint coats for wall decals on plastic: Emulsion paint without special properties (white & colored), normal emulsion paint mixed with tinting paint
Wall decals adhere well to these types of plastic: Smooth plasticwith a coat of paintRubbing plastic with a coat of paintRough plastic with a coat of paint
Brushing plastic with a coat of paint
Roll plastic with a coat of paintStructured plastic with a coat of paint

Conclusion: All types of plastic that have been coated with the right emulsion paint and are not too uneven

Basically, plastic that is painted with a compatible emulsion paint is best suited for a wall tattoo. In addition, the structure should not be too rough or furrowed.
The following applies here:
The grain of the plastic also depends on the wall tattoo and its subtleties.
Full-surface motifs cannot be pressed on as well as filigree wall tattoos with small parts (e.g. sayings with fine letters).

Wall decals on unpainted plastic
Wall decals tend to hold up poorly on these types of plastic .

We would be happy to send you a free trial sticker with which you can test liability:Clay plastic , untreatedMineral plastic , untreatedQuartz plastic , untreatedResin plaster / decorative plaster, untreated

Conclusion: Plaster should be painted with a suitable color before pasting. Plaster types that contain many small particles and mineral plastic that are not painted are particularly unsuitable for a wall tattoo

Wall decals on other surfaces

Wall tattoos are offered as wall decorations, but can do much more - for example, creatively embellish other surfaces.
Suitable substrates for a wall tattoo (next to walls):
Tiles
Glass
Plexiglass
Stainless steel
metal
plastic
Wood
Ceramics
veneer

Other substrates that are conditionally suitable:
Natural stone: depending on the composition (test with a sample wall tattoo)
Plastic: depending on the composition (test with a sample wall tattoo)
Varnish: suitable depending on the composition (test with a trial wall tattoo)
Wood: suitable depending on the surface treatment (test with a sample wall tattoo)
Particularly smooth substrates are suitable for sticking with wall decals.

However, the surface should not be cleaned beforehand with a cleaner with a lotus effect (e.g. glass panes, mirrors or tiles). Windows, shower cubicles, tiles, kitchen fronts, dishwashers, refrigerators, chairs, cupboards, boxes, plastic boxes, flower pots ... can be stuck with wall stickers.
Note that wall decals can be rinsed, can come into direct contact with water (e.g. in the shower) and should be wiped off gently with a damp cloth.
Tip: When attaching to glass, tiles, metal, plastic and very smooth surfaces, wet gluing makes sense.

There are tips HERE.

Wall decals on furniture

If you like it particularly creative, you can easily design your own unique piece of furniture. Wall decals adhere to furniture and doors.
Examples of furniture that serve as a base for a wall tattoo are:
Bedroom cabinet, bed, kitchen front, dishwasher, refrigerator, wooden door, glass door, plastic chair, wooden chair, desk, chest of drawers, drawers, bookcase, sideboard ...What alternative mounting options are there?

If wall decals don't stick to your wall and you still don't want to do without a beautiful motif, there are the following options:
Plexiglass: Attach the wall sticker to a plexiglass pane and attach it to the wall.
Canvas: Attach the wall sticker to a canvas painted with normal dispersion paint and attach it to the wall.
Stencil: If it has been found that wall tattoos do not stick to your wall in the long term, depending on the desired motif, there is also the option of producing the motif as a wall stencil that only has to adhere to the wall for a short time and can be colored in individually.

However, this technique requires a little tact and is best suited for smooth surfaces.

What else should I pay attention to when installing the surface?

Regardless of the ingredients, freshly applied wall paints, freshly wallpapered and freshly plastered walls should dry for at least 2-3 weeks before sticking them on.
The surface to be glued should also be clean, dust-free and grease-free.
Nicotine on the wall of a smoking household can also lead to liability problems.
Our tip: Therefore, thoroughly clean the wall of dirt and dust before sticking.
Tiles and glass should not be cleaned with a "lotus effect" cleaner before installation. The surface should be warmer than 10 ° C at the time of application. This plays a role above all with window panes.

What else should I know about application?

Tiles and floor stickers can be applied:
• on existing tiles, directly onto the wall or floor
• on any other smooth, not textured, surface like walls*, furniture, kitchen appliances
• make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying the tile stickers;
• if, for some reason, the tile stickers come over the grout, cut that excess part;
• for a better and durable finish use a hair dryer. Pay special attention to the edges. Find more details in section How to Apply.

• Do not apply the tile stickers on silicone based paints;
• Do not apply the tile stickers on textured surfaces;
• Do not clean the tile stickers with abrasive materials;
• Do not apply on fresh painted walls, let them dry for about 3 weeks;
• Do not start or finish the application over grout.

1. MATERIAL. The word canvas has the Latin origin and means "made of hemp". Nowadays, in addition to hemp and flax, cotton began to be used to make the canvas, and with the development of technology - synthetics.

2. IMAGE. Obtained by direct printing on canvas. This method of inkjet printing on canvas is sometimes called "Giclee".
The canvases have a textured surface and this makes the colors look more saturated, more vivid, more interesting.
The inks are environmentally friendly, harmless, long-lasting and do not fade over time.

3. SUPPORT. The picture, printed on canvas, is stretched on a wooden frame, also called subframe. The thickness of the subframe is 20 mm (2 cm)

Our subframes are made of natural wood - most often spruce. The wood is treated and dried so that it does not deform over time.
The tension is extremely precise to get a vision with museum quality. Important!
The quality of our paintings is that the canvas does not relax.
Important! We do NOT use materials such as PVC, MDF, chipboard and any other similar substitutes.

You will often come across the term 3D pictures or 3D panels.
Is the image of these "3D pictures" three-dimensional?
No, the image itself is not three-dimensional. The feeling of volume comes only from the thickness of the picture itself.

4. INSTALLATION. You get the pictures ready to hang.

On the back there is a classic picture hanger, one or two depending on the horizontal size.
One nail or dowel with a screw is enough.

Important! If you get bored or decide to move the picture to another wall, the traces are negligible.
Do not be fooled that double-sided adhesive tapes do not leave damage to the walls. This is not PVC foil.
When repairing, the surface layer of the paint and even the plaster will peel off together with the tape.

5. SIDE BOARD. When stretched, the canvas envelops the frame and the side board remains visible. The ways to complete the composition are folded, mirror, stretched, white or black. We decide which is most suitable for finishing the specific composition. The explanations below are for your information only and in case you have any special requirements for which you should call us.

• Folded edge
Part of the image also passes on the frame. For cases where there are no important elements near the end.

• Mirrored edge
The image is fully visible, and the outermost 20 mm are copied, inverted and serve as the outer edge of the frame.

• Stretched edge

The image is fully visible and the outermost 20 mm is stretched. An interesting effect of spreading and movement.

• White edge
The image is fully visible. The visible edge remains white. In some cases, this effect beautifully enhances the picture.

• Black edge
Similar to the white edges, but the visible edge remains black. Provides a pronounced contour and adds convincing contrast.

• Additional framework
The side edge remains invisible.
We do not offer such a service, but it is easily accessible, there are framing workshops everywhere

6. CLEANING AND CARE. Paintings on canvas are considered very durable, but still require care.

• Do not expose the canvas to direct sunlight for a long time as the colors may fade. Of course, nothing will happen to him if he is exposed accidentally for a while in the sun. It is important that the place of the picture is not constantly lit by the slate.
• Wipe the dust with a dry cloth and / or feathers. The canvas is usually water resistant, but we strongly recommend that you do not use water to clean it. If you happen to spill water on the canvas painting, it is better to absorb it immediately.
• Do not place the panel in place of sudden changes in temperature and / or humidity. The canvas may be damaged or stretched.
• Clean the canvas gently so that it does not stretch and dents appear.
• Can they be cleaned if they have been scratched with a pen or felt-tip pen by children? Unfortunately, the canvas is a densely woven fabric of cotton or linen fibers. Although it has undergone technological processing for strength, the material still has the ability to absorb chemical dyes, which will make it extremely difficult to completely remove traces of them. We recommend that you hang a picture on a wall that your child does not have direct access to.

These wood pictures are a unique, developed of Myroom decor team.

The base is natural, solid wood. We chose spruce because of the warm light tones of the wood.
The thickness of the panel is 20 mm.
There is a hangerр mounted on the back, so it is enough to drive a nail and the picture is already on the wall.

The front surface is hand polished. The feeling of touch is extremely pleasant. No other chemical treatment is applied.

Our pictures are printed using special technology to achieve high quality, color durability and maximum effect.
The image is applied directly to the wood. Technology allows to achieve optimal color saturation and at the same time the structure of the wood is clearly visible and pleasing to the eye.
Inks and technologies are environmentally friendly, with no residual odor or harmful emissions.

All the described features make our wooden pictures very suitable for decoration, especially on the wall of the children's room or bedroom.
A wood picture is a magnificent gift for the wall of any room. The wood is natural and authentic. You feel cozy and warm.

1. MATERIAL. Our paintings are made of 4 mm summer glass and are edged on all sides so that the glass does not cut.
Plates with a thickness of 10 mm are added on the back by special technology. These plates are 5 cm inwards from the end of the picture and are practically invisible, but ...
 • This back visually "peels off" the glass panel from the wall and the play of shadows creates an interesting effect of volume.
 • The back keeps the picture parallel to the wall along the entire length, there is no tilt forward as it happens if the hanger is only at the top.
 • The back strengthens the glass and reduces the likelihood of breaking due to accidental pressure on the glass picture.

What is tempered glass? During tempering the glass is subjected to a specific temperature treatment. As a result, the glass shatters into small pieces when it breaks. Tempered  glass is more resistant to heat. It is most often used in places where safety is very important - car windows, interior doors, shower doors, etc.

2. IMAGE. Obtained by direct printing on the glass on the back of the glass. Then a white seal is added.
The inks are environmentally friendly, harmless, long-lasting and do not fade over time. The glass itself provides additional protection from UV rays and the colors practically become eternal.
The colors are saturated and vivid, and the visibility through the thickness of the glass makes the picture exotic and interesting.

4. INSTALLATION. You get your glass pictures ready to hang.
A classic picture hanger is added on the back using a special technology (one or two depending on the horizontal size).
One nail or dowel with a screw is enough.

Important! Keep in mind that you need to drive the nail 4.5 - 5 cm below the level at which you want the picture to stand.

4. INTERIOR. Our paintings can be placed in all rooms, including the bathroom.
Their extremely easy cleaning makes them unbeatable for kitchen decoration.
If they are in the kids room, we recommend that they be installed in a place inaccessible to kids hands, so that they are not knocked down.

5. CLEANING AND CARE. Glass pictures are extremely easy to clean. But they still require care.
• Wipe the dust on the front side of the glass panel with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. Rest assured - nothing will happen to the glass. But be careful if you decide to clean the back. Do not use an abrasive or a stiff brush.
• Do not place the glass panel in a place with a sudden change in temperature. A crack may form in the glass.

A poster print is a type of large-scale printed image, typically used for decorative or informational purposes.

It is produced by printing an image onto a sheet of photo paper or vinyl, using a digital printing process.

Giclee prints are a type of high-quality, fine art print that is created using specialized inkjet printing technology. The word "giclee" comes from the French word "gicler," which means "to spray" or "to squirt."
Giclee printing involves using a high-resolution inkjet printer to produce a print that is both highly detailed and long-lasting.
Giclee prints are typically created using archival inks and acid-free, museum-quality paper or canvas. This ensures that the prints are resistant to fading and discoloration, and can last for many years without deterioration.
In addition to being long-lasting, giclee prints are also known for their vibrant colors and high level of detail, making them a popular choice for reproducing artwork and photographs.
Giclee prints are often produced in limited editions, with each print being numbered and signed by the artist. This adds to the collectability and value of the prints, as well as providing assurance to collectors that they are receiving a genuine, high-quality work of art.

Overall, giclee printing has revolutionized the world of fine art reproduction, providing artists and collectors with a high-quality, long-lasting alternative to traditional printmaking techniques.

1. IMAGE. Obtained by printing high resolutions on photo paper. This method of inkjet printing is sometimes called "Giclee". The colors are saturated and vibrant.
The inks are environmentally friendly, harmless, durable and do not fade over time

2. FRAMEWORK. The variety of frame profiles is really huge. We chose a clean profile with dark wood trim and thin gold edging. This model highlights both classic, modern and children's designs.

4. BACK. For the back we use a standard fiberboard with a thickness of 2 mm

5. FACE. The face of our framed paintings is anti-reflective glass with a thickness of 2 mm. The main purpose of glass is to protect the work from harmful factors and touch. In addition, the glass provides additional protection from UV rays and the colors practically become eternal. Anti-reflective glass refracts light, does not reflect it and in fact is almost invisible.

Important! For children's room paintings we prefer to replace the glass with anti-reflective aplaka. It looks the same, but does not break and is safe for children.

6. INSTALLATION. You get the pictures ready to hang. On the back there is a classic picture hanger, one or two depending on the horizontal size. One nail or dowel with a screw is enough.

7. INTERIOR. Our paintings can be placed in all rooms with normal humidity. As both the paper and the wood of the frame are deformed by moisture, placing them in the bathroom is not appropriate. If the pictures are for a child's room, we replace the glass with an anti-reflective plate for child safety reasons. However, in the children's room it is good to place the paintings in a place inaccessible to children's hands, so as not to be torn down.

8. CLEANING AND CARE. The paintings are protected by glass and are extremely easy to clean. But they still require care.Wipe the dust on the visible part of the glass panel with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. Rest assured - nothing will happen to the glass. But be careful if you decide to clean your back. Do not use an abrasive or a stiff brush.

Tips for choosing a picture for your home, printed on canvas, glass or poster.

An important principle is that the picture should become an integral part of the decor, and not something that stands out like a patch stuck on. Think about how to combine the colors of the picture so that they complement each other and look stylish.

The subjects of your paintings should suit your taste. On our site there is such a choice of all possible picture designs (on canvas, on glass or printed on photo paper and framed) that you need some time to find a model that you really like. Don't follow all the fashion trends. Choose a print that will inspire you for years and bring only positive emotions.

There are so many topics that can be printed as a picture that it is impossible to list them all. Here is what we have selected for you:

Nature. Nature and landscapes are the most common as they are usually neutral and can fit into many designs.
