INSTALLATION OF WALL STICKERS WITH TRANSFER FOIL
Installing the wall stickers is relatively easy, but we still recommend that you follow our instructions to ensure that you stick your sticker on the wall correctly the first time.
Later in the text we talk about a wall, but this refers to any smooth surface on which foil is glued. You can see details in the Surfaces section.
A wall sticker consists of 3 layers:
When you order a wall sticker from myRoom Decor, you receive a box or package that contains: • smoothing spatula• paper tape • the graphs themselves If there are additional elements to the graphic on the backing, separate them with regular scissors. |
Spread the sticker out on a flat surface. Make sure the sticker is not wrinkled and run your hand over it to make sure there are no creases or visible bubbles.
• When you are calm during gluing, you will achieve the best result. Make sure everything is in place before removing the paper backing as the adhesive layer is very strong and the foil becomes very sticky.
Important!
• If you are sticking the stickers on a wall, you need to make sure that the paint is dry (at least 2-3 weeks). If the wall you are going to stick on is outside, it is better to let it dry for at least another week.
• When you are calm during the application, you will achieve the best result. Make sure that everything is in place before removing the paper backing as the adhesive layer of the sticker is very strong and the foil becomes very lively.
Important! Clean the surface with a damp cloth so that it is free of dust and small particles. Let it dry. |
1. Choose a suitable location for the sticker. 2. Securely attach a strip of paper tape across the middle (horizontally or vertically, depending on the shape of the sticker) |
3. Once the sticker is securely attached, remove the tape from the top two corners. 4. Start carefully peeling off the shipping film . |
5. Cut the backing as close as possible to the fixing strip in the middle. |
6. Begin gradually pressing the transport film (along with the graphic) against the wall, continuously smoothing with the spatula. • Make sure no bubbles remain. • Start from the middle and gradually press outward, moving slightly upwards. |
7. Wait a few minutes and remove the fixing tape from the middle. • Repeat step 6 for the bottom half. |
8. Wait about ten minutes and begin to carefully remove the shipping film . • Be careful not to peel off any elements from the sticker. |
Done! • you can wipe away fingerprints. |
Sticking small stickers with transport film
Additional elements that you cut out in advance can be glued using the same technology. But often they are small and it is enough to do the following: | 1. Remove the shipping film from the backing along with the sticker. |
2. Place in place and press against the wall . | 3. Smooth with the spatula . |
4. Remove the shipping film at a sharp angle. | Done! |
If for any reason you decide to remove your sticker from the wall later, see our instructions on the How to Remove Stickers from the Wall page.
